My in-depth study into the development of emergent narrative systems, a potentially groundbreaking new direction for the field of narrative design.

Contemporary games such as Shadow of Mordor and its sequel, Shadow of War,  have demonstrated the power emergent narratives can offer in terms of game storytelling, and players subsequent  appreciation for systems that facilitate a user-driven, emergent narrative experience, and the potential that such systems will provide for both narrative and game design moving forwards.   

Within this research paper, I conduct research into methodologies, theories, papers in order to develop and establish conclusions about effective design for emergent narrative systems within this field, and propose a new design methodology for how to approach their design.
